Juliana Beckel is an internationally accomplished harpist who is currently based in New York City. She previously made her professional home in Hong Kong where she nurtured a diverse career as a soloist, orchestral harpist, and chamber musician.
In Fall of 2025, Ms. Beckel will be releasing her first solo album titled “The New Yorkers”. This project explores works by composers who were influenced by their time living in the city. Repertoire ranges from jazz to contemporary classical and reflects Juliana’s unique ability to call almost anywhere home.
As a chamber musician, she was a founding member of the Hong Kong Harp Quartet and the Lilac Trio and enjoyed performance engagements in the Netherlands, Italy, Korea, and at The 9th Hong Kong International Chamber Music Festival. As an orchestral musician, Juliana was the principal harpist of the City Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong (CCOHK) and appeared at Le French May, the Hong Kong International Piano Competition, as well as recorded with the CCOHK on a project for Naxos Records.
She has been a top prize winner in competitions hosted by the American Harp Society, the Fleadh Cheoil, and the Scottish Highland Games and was selected as a quarter finalist for the Dutch Harp Competition. She has worked with luxury clients including Chanel, Piaget, Tiffany & Co., Van Cleef & Arpels and has performed for celebrities including Michael Jordan, Colin Powell, and Tony Blair.
Juliana is a passionate educator and has been recognized by The Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) for her excellence in producing distinction level students. As a promoter of the harp, Ms. Beckel introduces new audiences to the harp and premiers new music through a series of successful salon concerts at her homes in both Hong Kong and TriBeCa.
Ms. Beckel holds a Bachelor of Music from The Oberlin Conservatory and a Master of Music from Rice University where she was awarded a full merit scholarship.
